Storm Damage from Sunday evening

Yes, we were hit by straight line winds of 70 mph Sunday evening. We weren’t home. Fortunately, no damage to our home and I had the anxious foresight to put the dogs in the basement before we left. Had one of those funny feelings.

Unfortunately, below you can see what happened to the new garden I just posted about.

This was an already dead tree but it fell so hard it drove the fence post nearly into the ground. I lost several onions but otherwise, we faired fairly well, my little seedlings and I.

It was an adventure getting home that day. Every road to our house was blocked by large downfallen trees, so when we were just down the road — we got out of our Jeep and walked home, making our way across the large branches in our flip-flops and dresses. Hubbie (not in a dress or flops I should say) then got the chain saw and with our neighbors, they opened up the roads rather quickly.
